This week, I was working on more of the landscapes in muted colors. I showed the first three of this series last week (click here).

All three are peaceful sunrise/sunset landscapes with stylized trees, hills, rivers and the sun in the background. With all three, the colors are limited, as with the first three of the series: yellow, orange, blue, green, dark brown and variants of gray.

The second illustration is a bit of an outlier: I wanted to capture the sometimes mystical atmosphere of the early morning, when the sun is just rising, but the shadows of the night still predominate. In the twilight, the plants themselves seem to glow instead of disappearing into the shadows. Therefore, in this illustration, the stylized trees are light in color, while the sun itself is a shadow.
