In the last few weeks I’ve lived out my fascination for poster designs from the 1950s and 1960s again.

As with previous retro-style illustrations, the main element is the sun with visible sun rays. Since landscapes are my favorite subject anyway, I combined them with typical color schemes: red, green, blue, yellow, orange, purple create great complementary contrasts.

The first series of retro-style abstract landscapes revolves around the theme “Road into the Sunset”. In the two color variants of the second landscape, I played with the possibilities of the colors: The variant with a lot of blue has a stronger complementary contrast (blue-orange) than the green variant, in which the contrast (green-red) is a bit more subtle.

Which one do you like best?
