On a sunny day in autumn a leaf from a tree fell directly on my arm. The colors were a mix of different shades of brown: very light beige, yellow-brown, dark brown, gray-brown and even a little anthracite. I am a big fan of autumn with its beautiful colors anyway, but this special combination of almost neutral tones fascinated me so much that I immediately started working with it at home.

With a limited color palette

For a landscape illustration I would add more colors, such as orange and terracotta red. But I wanted to limit myself to the shades of the leaf, to emphasize the beauty of these muted colors. That is why I have chosen to process the neutral color palette in a series of still lifes, which can all be combined with each other.
