Painting of a winterlandscape and some photos of the making of it.
Impressionist painting of a snow-covered path through the woods on a sunny winter day. #winterlandscape #landscapepainting #impressionist #tmucw
I made this painting almost a year ago. It is painted on a sheet of MDF, which I have covered with a piece of unbleached cotton, for a nice texture, just like canvas. Since I wanted to make a frame for the painting myself (with the help of my husband, he is the carpenter), it took so long before the artwork was finished. Size: 14.6 x 18.5 in (37 x 47 cm).
It is, by the way, an interpretation of an existing place in the city forest of the small town where I grew up. The forest is part of the Naturpark Rheinland and very beautiful for taking a walk or hike.
The path in the painting is one of many small lanes through the forest. It leads from the city along a number of very small lakes to a small chapel, the Waldkapelle (“Forest Chapel”).
