Abstract-impressionist painting of pink poppies.
Since I have already painted the poppies in red and blue, I have decided to make versions in other colors as well. Here in pink, with a background in black, white, green and yellow ocher.
As with the previous poppies paintings, this work is also made with palette knives, which means the paint is applied to the canvas without water and without premixing. This creates the beautiful structures and color effects, and forces me to not pay attention to details.
I still had some of the beautiful wooden frames available, which I have already used for several of my paintings. In this case, I found the light brown to look particularly beautiful, because the pink of the flowers stands out very well. White could have been used as well, but that looked too light for my taste.
In case you make use of Pinterest, I would appreciate if you would pin one of the images below. They are all optimized for Pinterest.
