The newest artwork from my series “Field Impressions” shows the Great Burnet.
Seen from close up, burnets look quite funny. It’s actually a number of small flowers with four petals each very close to each other on a stick (which is the stem. The start as small balls and grow until they become elongated spikes.
The form itself is nice already, but the colors is really special: dark red with a hint of orange where the sunlight shines on it, and with a little bit of blue violet in the shadows. The colors form a beautiful natural contrast with the surrounding green plants, which I incorporated in the background of the painting.

Made with acrylics on stretched canvas and protected with varnish, the painting is ready to hang without a frame, since the sides are painted as well.
