Field Impressions 13: Buttercup [acrylics]

A little sun is the topic of the thirteenth painting of the “Field Impressions” series.

Original artwork for 99,- EUR

Actually, the name “buttercup” is not the name for one specific plant, but some kind of collective name for a number of typical, yellow flowers, growing on grass patches, often side by side with common daisies. I always liked them because they look just like little suns.

Therefore, the background of this artwork is kept almost monochrome in green tints, to let the sunny yellow of the flower shine bright. Light and shadow are the only contrasts, the colors are rather harmonic.

The painting is made with acrylics on stretched canvas and varnish to seal it. A frame is not needed, since the sides are painted as well.
