Painting of Cornflowers.

Impressionist painting of a Cornflower. #impressionist #acrylicpainting #floralartwork #art #tmucw

And once again, I painted cornflowers, but this time for my “Field Impressions” series.

The seventh painting of the series is clearly different from the preceding six paintings, because for the first time the difference between sky and ground is visible.

I like that the colors of the cornflowers, i.e. blue and purple, are visible in the sky as well, and form a nice contrast to the green colors of the grass and the leaves of the plants. This way, the nice form of the blossoms is better visible, than it would be with the more diffuse background, I usually paint. The painting seems to be lighter than the other six, but no less atmospheric.

It is painted with acrylics on stretched canvas, and finished with varnish. The sides are painted as well so that a frame is not necessary. The painting is ready to hang. Size: 9.5 x 11.8 in (24 x 30 cm).
