Chalk pastel drawing of a landscape with early morning mist.
As a child I once went to France with my parents in the car. It was very early in the morning and we drove through a mountainous region. The sun just rose when we were at the highest point of a hill, where the road went down a long way into a valley. And the valley was entirely filled with mist and the sun was shining on it. For a moment it was all glistering and sparkling in white and gold. It was beautiful!
In case you make use of Pinterest, I would appreciate if you would pin one of the images below. They are all optimized for Pinterest.
I have tried to incorporate a bit of the impressions from then into this drawing of a landscape, where the morning sun lightens up areas of mist and turns them into golden yellow. Mist is actually not pleasant, it is wet and cold, but it can look very beautiful and enchanting if the conditions are just right. The fact that such a moment can be over very quickly makes it even more impressive. And I am always happy when I get the chance to experience a special moment in nature.
The drawing is made with pastel chalk on heavy pastel paper with a clear structure. The chalk is protected by a layer of fixative. The artwork is framed in a wooden frame with a matching passepartout in museum quality.
