Gorgeous painting of apple blossoms.
When I paint flowers and plants, I usually look for more information, such as where they grow, whether there are species with different colors, than what I know, whether they are poisonous or perhaps medicinal etc. I always find it interesting to learn some specifics if I paint something. And every time I realize that there is a lot I do not know: o) …
When I made this painting of apple blossoms, I noticed that the leaves look a lot like roses in terms of shape and color. And yes, apple trees are indeed part of the rose family! Perhaps, this is the reason why the flower buds look a lot like those of roses.
In any case, the apple blossoms are very nice to paint. Although the buds are clearly pink, the blossoms are mostly bright white, but with a tiny bit of pink here and there and in the gray shadows a hint of purple. The leaves and branches are just like those of roses green with a bit of red and everywhere there is a little blue in the shadows. Therefore, I incorporated these colors in the background.
